Hansard shows opposition supported PTPTN - Thasnks To The Mole

This is an excellent article from The Mole on the PTPTN issue:

Hansard shows opposition supported PTPTN
The Mole Wednesday, April 18, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR: The Parliament's hansard showed DAP Adviser Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng had supported the bill of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), when it was tabled in the parliament in 1997.

The hansard, dated 14 May, 1997 stated that, Kit Siang and Guan Eng had both proposed that a higher allocation be provided for the PTPTN instead of RM100 million startup as proposed in the bill.

The hansard reads: "(Tuan Lim Kit Siang [Tanjong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, saya mengalu-alukan Rang Undang Undang Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional untuk memperuntukkan satu tabung bagi membenarkan anak-anak kita berpeluang melanjutkan pendidikan tinggi dan menyediakan bantuan kewangan melalui pinjaman pendidikan atau selainnya kepada pelajar yang menuntut di institusi-institusi pengajian tinggi.(Tuan Lim Kit Siang [Tanjong]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua, I welcome the Bill of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to provide the opportunity for our children to pursue higher education and provide financial assistance through loans or otherwise to the education of students who are studying in institutions of higher learning.")

The hansard had stated that Kit Siang had said that the RM100 million startup allocation for the PTPTN as contained in the bill was insufficient and it should be increased to RM500 million.

His son Guan Eng was reported in the hansard of proposing a higher quantum than that by his father.

Guan Eng, was recorded as saying: "RM100 million is not enough. If the government is really sincere, they should consider to start at least with the amount of RM1 billion".

The bill was then tabled by Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak who was the Minister of Education.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who had raised issue with the PTPTN and had promised to abolish it if the opposition takes over the nation's rule, was the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister when the bill was tabled in 1997.

In fact, he was the acting Prime Minister then.

This was pointed out by Dr Mahathir who said he was on a two-month leave when the bill was tabled and Anwar was then the acting Prime Minister.

Dr Mahathir in a Bernama report, said: "That is Anwar. He doesn't know what is he talking about; he is forgetful".

Blogger Ruang Bicara Faisal pointed out that Anwar held the post of acting Prime Minister from May 19 until July 26 1997, adding that Anwar should have cancelled the plan to establish the fund if he had doubts about it.

"At that time Anwar had the power as a Finance Minister who gives approval to PTPTN to start the operation, he also had the power as a Deputy Prime Minister and more importantly, he had the power as the acting Prime Minister. Even Dr Mahathir had said that Anwar had the full authority as a Prime Minister.

"And now he tries to influence the public that the PTPTN is a cruel act?," the blogger said.

Anwar's promise to abolish the PTPTN had led to a group of university students from the Solidariti Mahasiswa Malaysia to organise a demonstration at Dataran Merdeka last Saturday.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, as reported by Bernama, said students involved in the demonstration should repay the loan to prove that they do not want the PTPTN loan scheme.

"Universiti Selangor (Unisel), owned by the PKR-led Selangor state government, must also declare whether the PTPTN should be abolished," he said.

P.S.: Well, every time there's something that is beneficial being politicized, you can almost always expect that it will be from those three: Larry, Curly & Moe.

Konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat 3 - Smoke Up In Their A**es

As predicted, today we can see a lot of arrivals in Alor Setar, and as expected a lot are from the east coast. What's so strange about it? Everytime pas and/or pakatan makes a convention, rally or even the normal ceramah, imported audiences had to be brought in. I saw a number of buses with D plates coming in from the highway this afternoon. Yes, the Konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat 3 is coming to town...now if only they can get the ACTUAL Kedahans to attend.

It has been shown that pakatan never really get any support from Kedah as pas Kedah is too busy wrangling their own problems. The last 100,000 rally (or something like that) did achieve close to 100,000, although only 5-8% are actually from Kedah. Looks like this is going to be an expensive affair again. Paid spectators, having to pay extra for acting purposes on their net tv, food, travel and accomodation expenses etc etc. Looks like Azizan might have to answer to anwar on why Kedah does not support pakatan.

It's not something new. As I have mentioned again and again, pas Kedah has no time for anwar. They need the win, but they do not need the tushee-stabbing sword. Most of pas Kedah were just waiting for anwar to be thrown in jail, some even would be happy if they can kick him in themselves. When anwar was freed, there was a commotion at Wisma Darulaman, and strangely, there were no cheers of joy, most were shocked by the release and many of them were asking WHY he was released.

For azizan, the convention will be quite a relief for him. Issues of over-logging, non-maintenance of infrastructure, downward-spiralling economy and zero-development are haunting him. What worries him and Amirrudin more is that people of Kedah know the truth about the "clean" process in dealing with the waqf land, and how pas is trying so hard to demolish a 102-year old surau. They have tried all their best to divert the issue by condemning the surau, its purpose, structure and use and try their best to stray the people's mind away from the actual issue: using the waqf land to build a shopping complex when the waqf was to be used as a surau. By  support shown from the sponsored audiences, it might just relieve him of the headaches...maybe his heart, blood pressure and sugar level too.

I am not sure whether the dingbat known as mahfuz will be there, but since anwar is there, maybe he will as anwar is the only key factor for him to topple azizan.

The convention will be a great opportunity to veil the eyes of Kedahans, especially when everybody knows the tension is flaring between pakatan's leader with the other.

The attendance of anwar, as expected, will be his roadshow trying to show how he worked hard to free himself, despite the fact everybody saw him cowering behind evereybody and desperately launching the violent bebas anwar 901. Kedahans know for a fact that Azizan detests anwar, and he wouldn't even look at him during their last meeting, let alone try to touch him with a big stick. Is it really worth the acting when everybody knows?

Even if Haji hadi attends, there is no actual purpose. Hadi has the old grudge where azizan cooly swiped him off for instructing Kedah to implement pas' hudud. Of course it makes no difference if n.ajis comes. Azizan has never been a conformist to these two laurel and hardy. He has always remarked the same way to the two by stating that they should look and take care of their homes first before telling other people. Not being a conformist to pas, and even seeking advice from Tun Mahathir really drew flak, especially from green-stomachs like mahfuz, who vengeance for not being able to defeat Tun in anyway whatsoever still burns. Anyway, with the sacking of Hasan Ali from pas for defending Islam, hadi and n.ajis might just find themselves stepping into a pile of bull...crap.

Lim Kit Siang makes the strangest name in the list. How would a so-called-Islamic party like pas accept a socialist like kit siang...or malam. DAP has a bigger grudge on azizan. The sole dap rep has always been kicked around by pas Kedah, usually being left out to dry in the dark. Yes, yes, it's quite similar to what dap does to pas in Selangor and Penang, but that is okay because dap is doing it. Even the usual threat by dap over the demolition of the illegal pig processing center was simply squashed by azizan. That particular dap rep (I don't even know his name) has so far yelled, shouted, jumped and made so much noise, but nobody still bothers about him. With dap so far supporting movements against Islam, I don't think they'll be welcomed anywhere near Surau Salihiah, but we know they'll be welcomed more at the new shopping complex site.

So, is the convention really for the people? Judging from the laughter heard around Kedah when anwar said that his victory is prople's victory, I would take a stab at saying it's not. Each of them has their own agenda, and with each of them having something to stab azizan about, I don't think azizan should even be there. I am not sure about the rumour that azizan might step down on that day as MB, but I know Phahrolrazi is bringing a lot of his people to the convention. Amirrudin too, will be bringing his people...although I'm not sure whether they'll be men or the men's spouses.

Well, within pakatan, and even within pas Kedah, Azizan could not find refuge. Maybe it's his wrong moves, maybe because he chose the toe-twinkling che had as economic advisor, or maybe it's just retribution for his decision on Surau Salihiah.

I received word that security will be tight there. Anybody who brings in anything about Surau Salihiah will be severely dealt with, and anybody who questions anwar's morality will be dealt with even worse. Well, what do you expect? This is democracy, anwar-style. There are talks of heads going to roll as well. Whose? Don't know, we'll see.

Maybe we should all go to the convention, but don't forget to bring the "Save Surau Salihiah" and "Anwar Peliwat" posters and banners. Bring along the "Welcome To The New World Order" t-shirt as well. Oh yes, please lock your sons and daughters at home before leaving for this event.

Agenda Kehancuran Islam & Melayu Dibelakang Kisah Mat Sabu, Komunis dan Mat Indera

Has there been any time that anwar, or even anybody in pakatan rakyat, does something out of nothing for nothing? Well, the answer is a ridiculously easy "no." Whenever they open their mouth, that always mean that they're up to something, and when they're up to something, it's always no good...but then again, that is why they're pakatan rakyat.

The same concept applies when mat sabu opened his big fat mouth to state on mat indra and the glorious communists, and how the policemen, their wives and children and villagers deserved to die by the communists. One might perceive him as as a blithering idiot...and he is. But all in all, it was a nice script, one written so well by those who hides behind pakatan, those who work hard to ensure the split between Muslims become wider and wider. What are these all about? What is the agenda all about? For whom the bells toll? Who gains? Who is the one who thinks that he gains? Is Mat Indra a hero? Can communists ever be trusted? Let's find out in this new video:

Sex Tape: Ripples From The Political Tear Duct

The first 3 months of 2011 has proven to be a year of living...I wouldn't say dangerously, inconveniently is more precise for anwar ibrahim. The admission of the three items for DNA samplings and now, the sex video that allegedly linked to him. Linked? Well, it was alleged to involve him doing the...umm..hunk-a-chunk-a, or the wild mambo, or whatever one might term it as.

Talking to a bunch of anwar supporters in Kedah is not really going to help anwar's case. As one of his hardcore supporters said, "This is pure (cow's droppings), anwar is gay! How can he be (ring-a-ding-dong) a woman?" Really? Anwar is married with kids, how can his own supporter be such a klutz?

Anyway, back to the main story, the reports on the sex video was hardly that hot when anwar suddenly called for a press conference and categorically denied that he was the stud in the video. As usual, he made light of the event, telling everybody that the man was physically different than him, especially in the tummy. Johari Abdul corroborated in his own press statement about anwar's skin tone and ass...I wonder why. Come to think of it, has johari abdul seen anwar naked before? That might just put me off my dinner...and supper...and the next morning's breakfast. But somehow, as residents in Sungai Petani have always stated, "It's johari abdul, since when has he ever said anything that's true?"

So incensed are the pakatan leaders and supporters that they even held a Solat Hajat session at Stadium Malawati. Well, to those who prayed for the truth to reveal itself, PDRM has confirmed that the video is legit, undoctored. That's part of the truth that has arrived, but of course, pakatan being pakatan, that'll sure be thrown out of their windows because it does not favor them. Like a friend of mine said, "pakatan's Solat Hajat's objective is to pray that God approves whatever they want to be deemed as the truth as the ultimate truth, and it has to be on their side always." They should realize that truth favors no-one and God chooses how the truth should prevail on God's own terms.

About the tummy, anwar demonstrated how his tummy is flat unlike the man in the video. That should end there, but Zulkifli Nordin's blog revealed that anwar wears a "barut" or a type of corset that is worn to protect one's injured back. It's true he demonstrated to the media, but he never took his shirt off. Of course, we have to wait until the police finish their investigation, now that the video and the watch are in their hands. Wait...if the watch has been submitted to PDRM, what about wan azizah? Isn't she supposed to be the one holding it safe? Tweetering? Anwar has yet to explain his absence for 2 hours or so from the tweeting room. The world also awaits his answer to Syazril Eskay's 5 questions. Don't sweat it, anwar won't be answering in any time soon.

The ripples created by the sex video seem to hit everybody in pakatan. There are already a large number of pas leaders who wanted a Royal Commission to handle the investigation...well, their days of being pas leaders might be numbered because of this. Still, pas has to face the reality, the anti-anwar faction has made their voices louder. The dyspeptic DAP seems to be hit even worse than pkr for standing up for anwar. In reality, dap has always been the true one-eyed people. They look but they never see. They jumped up and down like a monkey with its tail burnt when they were told that they did the same thing before. Yes, I was talking about the infamous DP Vijendran (of MIC) video case more than 20 years ago. When the issue cropped up, as usual, the comedy duo of kit siang and karpal were at the fro, shouting how the video was a matter of public importance. Now, because it involves a man honored by his wife as "God's gift"...we still don't know to whom...the sex video is deemed "gutter politics." Funny they demanded that the Datuk Trio be arrested at once, but said nothing when they came out with Vijendran's sex video. But hey, that's dap, yes, those people whose struggles have been like the drains in Georgetown, what more can we expect from them? Double standard is a norm for them. Surprised? Don't be...why? Karpal is the same person who brought the anwar sex-scandal in the 1990s to the fore in the first place...and now he's in anwar's defense team.

Sex tape, the watch, Tweeter, corset, tummy etc etc...anwar's spin might be too much for him to handle even for himself. At first he said he never anybody called Syazril Eskay, then a press statement revealed that he does...I don't know, maybe anwar is not sure what he has stated and he has spun which led him spinning round and round. Maybe that's why he started talking about religion in his blog out of a sudden.

Truth will prevail.

May The Farce Be With You, Hindraft and pakatan

The stage was already set; it might have been the greatest stage show on the earth...well, maybe on a patch of cow-dung, at least, Mallott's signal could've been answered, it could've been something to talk about at Kerdau and Merlimau, and it could've given anwar and pakatan the crisis they needed. Plus, it might have been the storyline they needed for the puppet-masters to provide them the middle-east-style riots for pakatan to "champion" for. But in a blink of an eye, hindraf became the chumps they never thought they would be.

PDRM pulled the rug from under hindraf when they arrested more than 100 supporters and their leaders. These self-claimed leaders of the Malaysian Indians were even jeered when they were taken away...now that's pure dung falling on their heads. To make matters worse, more and more Indian NGOs denounced these fools, stating that hindraf were never their champions, nor do they have any right to talk for the Indian community. Well, hindraf, the gig is up. Who is hindraf trying to fool anyway? Everybody knows that they're championing somebody, but Indians were never in their mind. Being one of the tools in the complex structure of pakatan's sly armaments, hindraf champions the pakatan, and being so, in their Top 10 list of what-to-do, championing Indian community falls at number 65.

When anwar and dap ordered them to back their asses up back during pak lah's time, the timing was impeccable, there were a lot of disgruntled voices. At this moment, the disgruntled voices were about them. Their dramas were romantically bollywood at best; the detained leaders claiming that they were not treated for ailments...until it was revealed that they refused to take medications. Well, if those diabetic ones get gangrene from their refusals, don't blame us for having your legs chopped off. Even today they claimed a similar storyline. Unfortunately, PDRM has everything on camera...hmmm, those bollywood wannabe superstars forgot they were on camera. Well, you have to always learn that storylines must be kept fresh, using the same storyline again and again might not bring the blockbuster result that you want.

There were those who saw hindraf protesters making provocations which they hoped will result in police brutality, but with a sad ending. The western media cameras were rolling but nothing of the sort happened. I guess not only pakatan was upset with the peaceful ending, even their western media friends who are hoping to create more story-selling riots, middle eastern style, were hopping mad as well.

Where were they when anwar and guan eng bull-crapped the residents of Kampung Pala in Penang? While most Indians rejoiced when Najib announced the formation of Little India in Brickfields, they never thanked him, yet tried to denounce what had happened. That is just the tip of the iceberg, but it has clearly shown that hindraf hinders the Indian community. They only bow to their pakatan masters.

Let's see: pas' attempt to create crisis using religion, well, they were given a public caning so severe that it might take them a few years to find their balls. dap tried to incite racial tension by distorting the Ops Lalang history received a failed when their butts got medievaled by Tun Haniff and Tun Mahathir. It seems that hindraf's attempt to create a crisis with a grand spectacle, the greatest bollywood show on earth were doused with an anticlimactically ride to downtown without the much needed violence and brutality. Back to the drawing board with anwar, n.ajis, lim kit siang, guan eng, kapal poo-singh and many more. I guess this lack of crisis for them to champion is really a crisis for pakatan and their sponsors.
